BWE seeks a Civil Project Manager in San Diego to lead complex grading, drainage, utility and public improvement projects from concept through construction.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and navigate permitting with local agencies. California PE license and 8+ years progressive experience required; Design-Build and QA/QC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• California PE licensed (active) required.
• 8+ years progressive engineering experience, including team leadership.
• 2+ years leading project teams and client communications.
• Experience with SDUSD/DSA/OSHPD/military and Design-Build delivery.

Lead relationships.**Since 1971, BWE has partnered on complex grading, drainage, utility, and public improvement projects across education, healthcare, military, commercial, and mixed-use. As a Civil Project Manager, you’ll be the primary client contact, guiding multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction while developing lasting client relationships.**What you’ll do*** Own scope, schedule, and budget; lead and mentor team members.* Plan, design, and oversee grading, drainage, utility, and public improvement plans (Civil 3D).* Navigate permitting with local municipalities, school districts, and DSA.* Drive client service and BD: nurture relationships, identify opportunities, and support proposals.* Champion QA/QC, specifications, and consultant coordination; support construction admin.**Experience that stands out*** California PE (active) and 8+ years progressive experience, incl. 2+ years leading teams.* Expert Civil 3D skills (MicroStation a plus).* Proven work with SDUSD/DSA/OSHPD/military and Design-Build delivery.* Helpful extras: proposal writing, training/mentoring, resource planning, hydrology studies, LEED calcs, SWPPP and stormwater management reports, specs writing/editing, and field/CA.**What success looks like*** Clients view you as their first call—responsive, solutions-oriented, and proactive.* Teams hit milestones with fewer surprises because you plan and communicate early.* You help grow accounts and networks through thoughtful follow-through and quality.Excellent communication skills and customer service are essential.Since 1971, BWE has served a diverse client and project base with a strong opportunity for advancement and a professional enthusiastic work environment.
