Job summary

WHB Engineers in California is seeking a California Registered PE with 7+ years of design and some project management experience. This senior role is based in San Mateo with a potential hybrid schedule, allowing time between office and home with management approval.

The ideal candidate should work independently with minimal supervision, possess strong technical skills, and be a team player ready to contribute to civil engineering design and project management across public and private clients.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7+ years of demonstrated design experience with some project management.
• California PE License.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills including professional client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design of projects.
• Assistance with preparation of proposals and fee estimates.
• Development of work plans and schedules.
• Assisting in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet client requirements.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a California Registered PE candidate, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. This is a position for a seasoned designer ready to move into a position of managing designs, projects, and project engineers. This position is based in our San Mateo office and offers a potential hybrid schedule, allowing work time to be divided between the office and home upon management approval.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity can work independently with minimum supervision, has sound technical skills, is team oriented, personable, and possesses a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. This position requires a well-organized and versatile individual who is experienced in civil engineering design with some experience in project management.

Responsibilities:

• Design of projects
• Assistance with preparation of proposals and fee estimate
• Development of work plans and schedules
• Assisting in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
• Performing studies, calculations, designs and preparation of plans and reports in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards
