  • Permitting and Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, environmental standards, and building codes relevant to multifamily housing.
  • Cost Management: Prepare cost estimates, monitor project expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to keep civil engineering work within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee construction activities to ensure civil work meets design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations for multifamily properties.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project teams, including engineers, surveyors, and field staff, delegating tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks (e.g., site conditions, weather delays) and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and quality.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for ownership, providing regular updates on progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with civil deliverables.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including progress reports, QC reports, and as-built drawings, for multifamily project handover.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering project management, with at least 7 years focused on multifamily residential projects (e.g., apartments, condominiums) or land development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D), project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil construction methods, site development, and infrastructure design specific to multifamily housing, including utilities, parking, and pedestrian access.

  • Experience working with municipal agencies and navigating permitting processes for urban or suburban multifamily sites.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based with frequent site visits to multifamily construction locations.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work in varying weather conditions during inspections.
  • Full-time position with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
