Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) of Elgin, IL is seeking a full-time Project Engineer (Preliminary Engineering) to join our civil engineering team. The role offers a competitive salary based on experience and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois or EIT with plan to obtain licensure within 12 months.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with IDOT and Phase I projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for municipal and private projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, bridges, trails, and traffic signals.
• Assist with concept, design, and engineering for IDOT and Local Roads preliminary engineering projects.
• Effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders both verbally and written.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulations.
• Prepare project cost estimates and funding applications.
