Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) in Elgin, IL, is seeking a full-time Project Manager/Team Lead for Preliminary Engineering. You will lead municipal and private project efforts, manage scope, schedule and budget, and help drive growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, is a licensed IL PE, and has at least 10 years of IDOT/Phase I experience. HLR offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, plus a culture of development and community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
• Valid Driver's license with a good driving record.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with IDOT and Phase I projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management for municipal and private projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, bridges, trails, and traffic signals.
• Conduct business development for Preliminary engineering work.
• Be responsible for the concept, design, and engineering required to complete IDOT and Local Roads preliminary engineering projects.
• Be responsible for geometric design on projects and training staff in geometric design.
• Work closely with Principal to provide project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders both verbally and written.

On any given day, you'll:

• Provide project management for a variety of municipal and private projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, bridges, trails, and traffic signals
• Conduct business development for Preliminary engineering work
• Be responsible for the concept, design, and engineering required to complete IDOT and Local Roads preliminary engineering projects
• Be responsible for geometric design on projects and training staff in geometric design
• Work closely with Principal to provide project, scope, schedule, and budget
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders both verbally and written
• Understand project schedules and implement accordinglyUnderstand and execute requirements for different funding opportunities
• Review exhibits to communicate with clients for inclusion in project reports
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulations
• Environmental Survey Request process
• Review and assist with project reports
• Write Funding Applications
• Review and assist with project cost estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with IDOT and Phase I projects

Desired Skills and Experiences

• Experience with ISTHA/IDOT and Local Roads project processing procedures
• Microstation/Geopak software
