Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer in Reno, NV to lead municipal infrastructure projects. You will prepare drawings, manage construction observation, and coordinate with agencies to secure permits.

Required: B.S. in Civil Engineering, PE licensure, 8+ years’ experience; AutoCAD required, Civil 3D preferred. We offer flexible schedule, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits including PTO and 401K.

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on municipal engineering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Manage and lead construction observation and project management services to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control to ensure deliverables meet specifications.
• Lead client interactions through design, bidding, contracting, and construction phases.
• Coordinate with municipal staff and regulatory agencies to secure permits and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with Division Manager to manage and support various infrastructure projects.
• Engage with city councils and public works departments to discuss project details and align engineering solutions with community needs.

Your Responsibilities as a Civil Project Engineer:

• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents, with a preferred focus on municipal infrastructure projects
• Manage and lead construction observation and project management services to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and specifications
• Provide technical guidance and quality control to ensure project deliverables meet all required specifications
• Lead client interactions during the design, bidding, contracting, and construction phases, ensuring smooth project execution and client satisfaction
• Coordinate closely with municipal staff and regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Collaborate with colleagues and Division Manager to manage and support various infrastructure projects
• Engage regularly with city councils, public works departments, and other local entities to discuss project details, provide updates, and align engineering solutions with community needs, and drive strategic initiatives

What we're looking for:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on municipal engineering
• AutoCAD required; Civil 3D preferred
