Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer - Civil Construction in Elgin, IL to support project managers across preconstruction through closeout. You’ll coordinate RFIs, submittals, and field documentation, track budgets, and help schedule activities.

Ideal with 1–3 years’ experience, a construction-related degree, and familiarity with Procore or Viewpoint. On-site role with growth opportunities in a stable, historic Illinois firm.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a construction project engineering or related role.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Familiarity with Procore or Viewpoint.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers throughout all phases of construction from preconstruction to closeout.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to maintain schedule and budget.
• Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and budget reporting using project management software.
• Attend and document meetings; distribute minutes and follow up on actions.
• Conduct field observations and assist with quality control and site documentation.
• Support estimating and bidding efforts on new pursuits as needed.
