Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join a leading New Jersey civil contractor. You will support project managers, coordinate field activities, review drawings and specs, manage RFIs and submittals, and assist with scheduling, budgeting, and reporting across infrastructure and site development projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 2+ years in civil work, knowledge of Procore/Primavera/AutoCAD, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure, site development, or heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, controls, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam or AutoCAD.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; detail-oriented.
• Willingness to travel across New Jersey as required.
• EIT certification or PE licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with planning, execution, and closeout of projects.
• Coordinate daily activities among field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts, and project documentation.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Monitor progress and identify schedule or cost impacts.
• Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with specs, safety, and quality.
• Collaborate with estimating and procurement for materials and subcontractors.
• Track quantities, productivity, and project performance metrics.
• Assist with reporting, documentation, and client meetings.
• Support permit acquisition and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and safety policies.
