Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join the Roadway Design Transportation Group in Virginia Beach, VA. You will design roadway features, build 3D models, and develop plan sheets for transportation projects.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 2+ years of experience in transportation civil engineering, specifically roadway design.
• Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D preferred.
• Familiarity with VDOT standards and procedures preferred.
• EIT certification preferred

• Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects.
• Develop 3D models and plans using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software.
• Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages.
• Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning.
• Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities.
• Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery.

Compensation

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. This position is eligible for straight-time overtime. There may be flexibility on salary for experienced candidates. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials role complexity.
