Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III Roadway Design - Transportation candidate to join our Transportation Design Group located in our Washington, DC office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design project components using relevant office software, modeling, and AutoDesk Civil 3D technology.
• Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills, utilizing computers to solve problems.
• Prepare specifications and materials through research and catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payments.
• Develop design details and plan sets.
• Conduct research and write objective summary reports for project work or inspections.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Perform field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineers.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams as guided by senior staff.

Skills/Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design preferred.
• Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer is essential.
• AutoDesk Civil 3D proficiency is a plus.
• VDOT experience is preferred.
• EIT certification is a plus.
