Company Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development candidate to join our Residential and Public Land Development Groups located in our Raleigh, NC office.

The Project Engineer II/III is a Civil Engineer with 2 to 10 years' experience. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial, and public land development projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and relevant software applications including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Projects will include various land development site designs. Responsibilities also include research, coordination, task management, and team collaboration on design.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Design project components using relevant software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  2. Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills or computer tools to solve problems.
  3. Prepare specifications by researching and utilizing manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payment items specific to projects.
  4. Complete design details and plan sets.
  5. Conduct research and write objective summary reports used in project work or inspections.
  6. Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
  7. Conduct field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineering staff.
  8. Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed.

Skills/Requirements include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Two to ten years of civil engineering experience; EIT preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
