Job description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development candidate to join our Residential and Public Land Development Groups located in our Raleigh, NC office.

Project Engineer II/III are Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years of experience. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial, and public land development projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and software applications including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Projects will include various land development site designs. Responsibilities include research, coordination, task management, and team collaboration on design.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Design project components using relevant software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  • Perform calculations using engineering formulas and computer software to solve problems.
  • Prepare specifications and materials through research and manufacturing catalogs, including material selection, installation, inspection, and payment.
  • Complete design details and plan sets.
  • Conduct research and write objective summary reports for project work or inspections.
  • Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Perform field observation, inspection, and data collection as directed by senior engineering staff.
  • Communicate with client staff and internal design team under guidance of senior staff.
Skills and requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Two to ten years of civil engineering experience; EIT certification is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
