Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Civil Engineer in the United States, New York area, to join our team of licensed Land Surveyors and Professional Engineers. You will contribute to surveying, mapping and civil engineering services for a growing base of clients while leveraging CAD tools and project leadership.

The role involves performing standard analyses, preparing CAD drawings, and developing site and utility plans, with attention to detail and strong communication within a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• Five (5) years relevant experience in lieu of a PE.
• Proficient with design software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Perform and manage standard computations and analysis, prepare reports and CAD drawings.
• Develop detailed site, grading, utility and erosion control plans.
• Design storm water, water/wastewater, roadways and parking; provide construction details.
• Develop proposals for professional services.
• Manage projects, technicians and client relationships.

Job Details

Responsibilities include:

• Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Perform and manage standard computations and analysis, prepare reports, permit applications, and develop CAD design drawings.
• Development of detailed site, grading, utility and erosion and sediment control plans.
• Storm water management design, minor water and wastewater design, roadway and parking design and construction detailing and specifications.
• Development of proposals for professional services.
• Management of projects, technicians and client relationships.
• Development of technical approaches to projects, and participation in public presentations and speaking engagements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• Five (5) years relevant experience in lieu of a PE.
• Experience in a professional consulting environment.
• Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Suite) + design skills (including AutoCAD and HydroCAD).
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment on multiple deadlines.
