Location: Milpitas, CA (Onsite / Field-Based Operations)

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Project Scope: Heavy Civil Construction, Site Development, and Utilities

Pay Range: $75,000 – $100,000 per year (Salary DOE)

The Opportunity

Bridge the Gap Between Civil Design and Field Execution.

Brixco Construction, Inc. is seeking a high-caliber Civil Project Engineer to serve as a vital technical anchor for our operations in Milpitas. Specializing in essential community infrastructure, mass sitework, and complex utility pipelines, our firm delivers high-performance solutions across the region.

This position is designed for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who wants to step out of a passive office environment and into a role with direct impact on active heavy civil builds. Serving as the primary link between project managers, design engineers, and field crews, you will assist in commanding project logistics from preconstruction estimating through final closeout. If you are looking for an established firm that provides structured technical mentorship, exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects, and a definitive path forward into Project Management, Brixco Construction is where you can build a lifelong career.

What You Will Be Doing

You will hold responsibility for technical document control, production tracking, and engineering support across our civil operations:

  • Subcontractor Coordination: Partner directly with Project Managers to coordinate subcontractor workflows and internal teams, enforcing strict project schedule adherence and budget retention.
  • Technical Plan Review: Review and analyze civil blueprints, project specifications, and contracts to ensure total engineering compliance across all field applications.
  • Document Control Command: Author, track, and manage critical project document loops, maintaining absolute organization over RFIs, submittals, material approvals, and change order logs.
  • Preconstruction Estimating Support: Conduct precise material quantity takeoffs, review earthwork metrics, and coordinate bid solicitations to support ongoing estimating pipelines.
  • Quality Control Site Inspections: Execute regular site visits and field inspections to verify that on-site methods, grading, and structural components meet elite quality standards.
  • Project Cost Tracking: Maintain highly accurate project cost databases to ensure complete financial transparency and budget stability for corporate stakeholders.
  • Field Technical Problem-Solving: Collaborate in real time with field superintendents and foremen to resolve engineering conflicts, clarify plans, and uphold strict site safety protocols.
What You Need To Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Technical Software Literacy: Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capability in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and cost tracking.
  • Organizational Mastery: Elite analytical and organizational skills with a disciplined approach to managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication skills necessary for professional stakeholder management and inter-trade coordination.
  • Collaboration Skills: A proven ability to work productively across diverse environments, bridging the communication loop between office-based executives and field-based crews.
  • Core Construction Foundations: A solid baseline understanding of structural construction methods, civil materials, and general project coordination workflows.
Preferred Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Prior internship, field exposure, or hands-on experience within a heavy civil, underground utilities, or earthwork infrastructure setting.
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a demonstrated eagerness to master advanced civil estimation and project control software.
  • Market Position: Entry-to-mid-level Project Engineers who establish strong core competencies in underground utilities and Caltrans/municipal compliance represent the highest-demand tier of management talent in the Bay Area, leading to accelerated career advancement tracks.
Compensation & Premium Benefits

We reward technical precision, analytical execution, and field dedication with a robust rewards package:

  • Competitive Salary: $75,000 – $100,000 annual base salary based strictly on your experience and technical scope.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance structures.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous allocations for Paid Time Off (PTO), including paid vacation, sick leave, and paid company holidays.
  • Professional Assets: High-quality specialized safety equipment and protective field gear fully provided by the firm.
  • Career Trajectory: Access to structured internal mentorship, paid continuous education, and defined pathways for rapid advancement into Project Manager roles.
