City of Richmond, Office of the City Attorney, seeks a Paralegal for the Civil Litigation Division to support attorneys in federal and state courts. Responsibilities include legal research, document preparation, scheduling, and filing in Richmond courts. A Paralegal certificate or degree is required with strong written and verbal skills.

The position is Unclassified and at will. Preferred candidates will have civil litigation experience and proficiency with MS Office; duties include handling

• Experience in civil litigation, federal/state courts, or municipal law.
• Experience drafting orders, preparing discovery, scheduling legal actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare pleadings, motions, orders, notices, and briefs for Richmond Circuit Court and General District Court.
• Maintain and organize case files and documents.
• Coordinate City Attorney schedules and liaison with internal/external departments.

Educación

Paralegal certificate

Associate degree in Paralegal studies

Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies or related discipline
