Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney in New York to manage a diverse docket from inception to resolution, including real estate and contract matters. The ideal candidate is a practical litigator who can handle cases independently, appear regularly in court, and communicate directly with clients.

You will draft pleadings, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, and work with a team to develop cost-effective strategies.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
Proven experience handling civil litigation matters independently.
Strong experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, negotiations, and court appearances.

Responsibilities

Independently manage civil litigation matters through all stages, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement, trial preparation, and trial.
Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands, subpoenas, and settlement agreements.
Appear regularly in New York State courts for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and trials.
Take and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
Develop litigation strategies that are practical, cost-efficient, and aligned with client objectives.
Handle real estate, contract, landlord–tenant, and general civil litigation matters.
