Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking an attorney for a civil litigation role based in Illinois with on‑site work in Chicago, IL or Lisle, IL and periodic remote work. The position targets attorneys licensed in Illinois with 2+ years of civil litigation experience, including plaintiffs or defense sides, and emphasizes strong writing, research, and client service.

The role offers a competitive salary of $115,000.00–$150,000.00 per year, a performance bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Illinois Bar license.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience on either the plaintiff or defense side.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment.
• Trial experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in discovery.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients during mediation.
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, and other proceedings.
• Collaborate closely with partners and fellow attorneys on complex litigation matters.
• Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and strategic legal counsel.

Location: On‑site opportunity based in either Chicago, IL or Lisle, IL, with regular in‑office collaboration and flexibility to work remotely part of the week.

Note: Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and have at least 2 years of civil litigation experience. Plaintiff or defense backgrounds are both welcome. Trial experience is strongly preferred.
