MGW Law Partners in Fayetteville, Arkansas is seeking a sharp Civil Litigation Attorney with real courtroom experience to join our firm. This role involves arguing motions, examining witnesses, and trying cases in state and federal courts.

You will manage cases from intake through discovery, trial, and appeal, draft pleadings and settlement agreements, take depositions, and develop case strategies. Active Arkansas bar license and 2+ years of civil litigation are required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Arkansas bar in good standing.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience and courtroom practice.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent plaintiffs and defendants in civil matters including contract disputes and torts.
• Appear in Arkansas state and federal courts arguing motions and try cases.
• Manage cases from intake through discovery, trial, and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and settlements.
• Take depositions and conduct case investigations and research.
• Develop case strategy and advise clients on risks and costs.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediations/arbitrations.

Job description

MGW Law Partners is seeking a sharp and tenacious Civil Litigation Attorney with real courtroom experience to join our Fayetteville, Arkansas firm. This is not a desk-only litigation role. We need an attorney who has stood before judges and juries and is comfortable arguing motions, examining witnesses, and trying cases.

What You'll Do:

• Represent plaintiffs and defendants in civil matters including contract disputes, business litigation, construction disputes, property and real estate conflicts, and tort claims
• Appear regularly in Arkansas state and federal courts, arguing motions, handling hearings, and trying cases, both bench and jury
• Manage cases from intake and pre-suit demand through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements
• Take and defend depositions, and conduct thorough case investigations and legal research
• Develop case strategy and advise clients on risks, costs, and realistic outcomes
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediations and arbitrations

What We're Looking For:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the State of Arkansas
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience
• Courtroom experience required, including arguing motions, handling hearings, examining witnesses, and trying cases
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience litigating in Northwest Arkansas state and federal courts is a plus
