Job summary

Direct Counsel has partnered with a prestigious firm to recruit a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with a focus on property and energy subrogation. This role is based in Los Angeles, CA or Detroit, MI and offers hands-on case responsibility in sophisticated matters.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of civil litigation experience, strong legal writing, analytical and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage matters and deadlines independently; subrogation experience is a plus but not

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
• California or Michigan Bar membership.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage matters and deadlines.
• Subrogation experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Handle depositions, court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Develop case strategy and work directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
• Work alongside experienced attorneys on property and energy subrogation matters.
