Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.
• Active membership in the Florida Bar at time of hire.
• Strong research and writing skills with knowledge of state and federal rules.

Responsibilities

• Represent the County in state and federal litigation, including civil rights and defense work.
• Advise County officials and employees on legal questions and draft opinions.
• Gather facts, review investigations, and respond to correspondence.
• Prepare and manage assigned cases for trial, including discovery and pleadings.
• Present and argue cases in court and supervise related investigations.
• Provide legal advice to various County divisions and interpret ordinances.
