The Volusia County Attorney’s office is seeking applicants for one full‑time position of Assistant County Attorney as part of our litigation team. This position will be responsible for professional legal work as a member of the County's legal staff representing divisions, advising administrative officials, and conducting civil suits. The applicant must be a member of the Florida Bar. No outside practice is permitted. The County is involved in a wide variety of state and federal litigation. Candidates must demonstrate excellent research and writing skills, and familiarity with state and federal rules of evidence and civil procedure.

Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be an active member of the Florida Bar. No outside practice is permitted.
Must possess a valid driver’s Florida license at time of hire and maintain thereafter.

Ability to read and comprehend legal documents, statutes, ordinances; technical and professional journals and manuals, abstracts, and financial reports. Ability to speak clearly and concisely relating information, details, and procedures to layman; persuasive/extemporaneous speaking; ability to speak in public. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
