Job summary

Intertek Yazoo City, MS is seeking a Civil Inspector for a 6–8 month engagement to ensure alignment of the Project Quality Plan with the Project Execution Plan. You will promote quality, drive corrective actions, and influence project success in a field-based setting.

The role requires on-site inspection of soil, grout, concrete and piling, with strong reporting, safety adherence, and collaboration with discipline engineers, construction crews, and inspectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience on-site during construction in Civil inspection.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Able to work and communicate in a team environment.
• Must possess fundamental verbal and writing skills in English language.

Responsibilities

• Soil, grout, concrete, piling experience required.
• Capture results of inspection/observations and report in timely manner.
• Ensure suppliers/contractors have relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
• Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, field workers and inspectors in a professional manner.
• Witness and monitor suppliers/contractors work activities, inspection, and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures and etc.
• Assist review of Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication / construction work
• Verify the implementation of PTW (permit to work) LOTO (lock-out and tag-out) and other safety procedures
• Organization and implementation of record retention systems

Job Title: Civil Inspector

Shift/Schedule: This is a Regular, Full time role working tat least 50 hours per week. Duration is 6 to 8 months.

Location: Yazoo City, MS

What you'll do:

Physical Requirements for this role:

• Must be able to walk long distances
• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Must be able to stand for extended durations
• Must be able to reach in all directions
• Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception and field vision
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold temperatures
• Must be alert and able to determine job related hazards and recognize when hazards change
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Qualifications:

• NACE Certified a plus
• 5+ years of inspection experience on-site during construction in Civil inspection
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Able to work and communicate in a team environment
• Must possess fundamental verbal and writing skills in English language
