Job summary

The City of Henderson is seeking a Design Technician – Infrastructure Design and Construction to draft and design civil engineering projects within the Department of Public Works. The role involves creating construction drawings for water, streets, and drainage systems and supporting project development with accurate CAD models.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and at least three years of CAD drafting experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years full-time experience performing architectural drafting or design technician work using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Equivalent mix of related education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Respond to engineering information requests by locating maps, plans, utility data and related materials.
Design and draft construction drawings for public streets, utilities, water and sewer systems, and public works facilities.
Produce plans and profiles for grading, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and water/sewer lines.
Prepare topographic maps from survey field notes.
Perform calculations related to areas, volumes, and construction requirements.
Coordinate project approvals and documents with local, state, and federal agencies.
Provide technical support to construction personnel, consulting engineers, and the public.
