IH Engineers PC seeks a Civil/Highway Engineer for our Princeton, NJ location. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; NJ or NY PE license is preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, INROADS, and Civil 3D is required; OPENROADS familiarity is a plus. The candidate will collaborate with a team of junior engineers on roadway design tasks and adhere to AASHTO Green Book, NJDOT, and FHWA MUTCD standards, applying QA/QC processes to ensure

Civil/Highway Engineer

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree is required in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in the state of NJ or NY is preferred or able to obtain within 12 months.
• Good communication skills.
• Be proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and design tools such as INROADS and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with OPENROADS is beneficial.
• Capable of collaborating with a team of junior engineers and independently performing roadway design tasks.
• Familiarity with roadway design manuals, such as AASHTO’s “Green Book”, NJDOT’s Roadway Design Manual and the FHWA’s MUTCD.
• Prior experience with AASHTO, NJDOT Specifications and Plans, and exposure to standards from other agencies such as NJTA, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, or PENNDOT.
• Implement QA/QC processes to maintain project quality, including thorough review of field data, design and project evaluation reports, prioritization, and optimization of work programs as well as specifications in compliance with NJDOT and County requirements.

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of experience experience involving the design of roadways, intersections/interchanges, ADA curb ramps, parking, and pedestrian facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Civil Roadway Design.
• Preparation of contract plans and documents inclusive of bidding documents.

This position is a full-time for our Princeton, NJ, location.
