Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• OSHA 10-hour certification required; 30-hour preferred.
• Knowledge of standards, specifications, codes, regulations and laws.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT guidelines.
• 5+ years' experience with highway/utility construction.
• Valid driver's license and Branch Fleet policy compliance.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Ability to use good judgement with minimal supervision.
• Ability to complete work on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Supervises crews and maintains professional relations with Owner, Engineer, and team.
• Builds job by plans and specifications as directed by supervisor.
• Oversees layout, assembly and installation of utility pipe.
• Preplans daily pipe installation with Superintendent to meet goals.
• Maintains storage of materials and rented equipment.
• Ensures proper operation and maintenance of equipment under control.
• Reviews Miss Utility policy for compliance.
• Preplans and schedules pipe installation daily.
• Familiar with inspection and material/equipment requirements.
• Reports any requests for extra work.
• Prepares daily reports, work unit quantities, equipment reports, and material receipts.
• Ensures quality control and contract compliance; corrects discrepancies.
• Directly oversees safety and accident control for pipe installation.
• Participates in safety meetings and OSHA compliance.
• Cooperates with Corporate Safety managers.
• Assists in post-incident investigations.
