Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027. You will help prepare daily reports, verify that construction aligns with plans, and support engineers and inspectors with RFIs while participating in现场 visits and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The internship targets students in Civil or Environmental Engineering, emphasizing outdoor work, travel to sites, and growth within a well-established, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with RFIs.
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
