Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Civil Field Intern for Summer 2027 in Farmington Hills, MI to join our Civil Field team. The role involves assisting with daily project reports, verifying that construction complies with design and contract specifications, and supporting engineers with RFIs.

Interns will participate in site visits, observe project execution, and learn to communicate findings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on regional Michigan projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
