Job summary

Conti Civil in Jacksonville, NC seeks a Field Engineer to support the project team and field management in delivering safe, quality work while meeting budgets. You will assist with shop drawings, submittals, scheduling of subcontractors and materials, as-built drawings, job cost, procurement and field operations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with relevant experience, strong teamwork, and good organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (1+ years of experience).
• Heavy Civil Construction experience is required.
• Experience with structures or site civil excavation is preferred.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
• Solid time management and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, P6, HCSS and ERP systems.
• Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tracks quantities daily and reconciles them monthly for payment purposes.
• Supports the Quality personnel and the project.
• Manages/reviews foremen's reports daily for accuracy before income/cost entries.
• Documents Time and Material operations on a capture sheet and reconciles with the client daily.
• Produces and manages project submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications.
• Assists the buyout process, writes requisitions, and communicates information to the Project Team.
• Produces complete purchase orders after conditions are approved by the Project Manager.
• Knows subcontract details and coordinates with subcontractors at meetings.
• Establishes professional relationships with clients and field inspectors.
• Participates in Four Week Look Ahead schedules with Superintendents.
• Participates in daily huddles to drive profitable construction.
• Establishes relationships with clients and representatives and field inspectors.
