Job summary

RS&H, Inc. is seeking a Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspector in Novi, Michigan to monitor contractor activities and inspect materials for compliance.

You will work within our Transportation-Construction Management practice, contributing to both quality and safety on road and bridge projects. The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited degree, reads and interprets plans well, and demonstrates strong communication.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications in time frames.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift as needed in field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of contractor's daily operations.
• Monitor work zone traffic control plan for discrepancies.
• Monitor erosion control plan for discrepancies.
• Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work.
• Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work.
• Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests.
• Track/measure completed work quantities for payment.
• Perform survey checks.
