Job summary

Spartan Earthworks, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Estimator to join our preconstruction team. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs for sitework and civil scopes, develop competitive estimates, and support bid development through project award.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in civil estimating or 5+ years in civil PM/field roles, strong ability to read plans, and proficiency with Excel and takeoff software.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil estimating experience or 5+ years in civil PM/field roles.
• Experience with sitework, earthwork, grading, utilities, storm drainage, erosion control.
• Ability to read civil plans and bid documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Excel and takeoff software preferred.
• Two-year degree preferred; four-year degree in CM/CE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports to determine scope and bid strategy.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for civil/sitework scopes.
• Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Support handoff from estimating to operations after award.
• Update preconstruction reporting and bid tracking.
• Coordinate with preconstruction, operations, and leadership teams.
