Job summary

Talent With Heart in Southern California seeks an Estimator for civil grading and site work. You will price earthwork, utilities, paving and concrete, building bids for public works and private development with the company’s own crews.

Requirements include 5+ years of estimating in civil projects, proficiency with HeavyBid/B2W/Bluebeam/PlanSwift/Excel, and strong collaboration with PMs and field teams. On-site, full benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating in civil grading, earthwork, heavy civil, or underground utility projects.
• Experience estimating grading, site development and horizontal civil projects, incl. large underground work.
• Track record bidding for government/public works and private development.
• Proficiency with HeavyBid, B2W, Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, and advanced Excel.
• Strong ability to build unit costs from historical data.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, grading, and site work.
• Take off underground utilities, trenching, shoring, paving and concrete.
• Build cost estimates from labor, equipment, materials and subs.
• Prepare competitive bids following prevailing wage and procurement rules.
• Solicit, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks and bid reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and field crews on constructability.
• Maintain unit costs and support turnover and change orders.
