Frederick Fox LLC in Las Vegas is seeking a skilled Utility Estimator with 3+ years of experience to prepare cost estimates and bids for underground utility construction projects in the Las Vegas Valley.

The ideal candidate will estimate wet and dry utilities, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and review plans, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to define scope and risk.

Formación

We are seeking a skilled Utility Estimator with a minimum of three (3) years of experience estimating underground utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing bids for residential, commercial, and public works utility infrastructure projects within the Las Vegas Valley.

Preference will be given to candidates with local estimating experience in Southern Nevada, with strong knowledge of Nevada construction codes, Clark County standards, and utility authority requirements.

The Utility Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for projects involving wet utilities and dry utilities, while coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams throughout the preconstruction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from civil drawings and specifications.
• Develop complete cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
• Prepare competitive bids for residential developments, commercial sites, and public works infrastructure projects.
• Analyze project plans, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to determine full scope of work.

Utility Estimating Scope

Wet Utilities

• Water mains and water services
• Sewer mains and laterals
• Storm drain systems
• Manholes, catch basins, and structures
• Fire lines and hydrant systems
• Utility trenching, bedding, and backfill
• Dewatering and shoring systems

Dry Utilities

• Electrical conduit and duct banks
• Fiber optic infrastructure
• Gas lines and associated utilities
• Utility vaults, pull boxes, and handholes
• Joint trench coordination
• Solicit and review supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Ensure quotes align with project specifications and scope requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with local vendors and subcontractors.

Local Compliance & Coordination

• Ensure estimates comply with Nevada construction codes and local utility standards.
• Review and account for requirements from local municipalities and utility agencies in the Las Vegas Valley.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs when required.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and operations teams during preconstruction.
• Participate in bid reviews and strategy discussions.
• Assist with project handoff after contract award.

Qualifications

• Experience with estimating and takeoff software (Bluebeam, HeavyBid, HCSS, or similar).
• Established relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers.
