Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Civil/Environmental Project Engineer for our Rocky Hill, CT office. This role requires 5–10 years of experience and a PE.

You will lead projects across a diverse portfolio including environmental assessment, remediation, waste management, tank compliance, and demolition, with strong emphasis on CT regulatory knowledge and client coordination. You will supervise teams, develop scope, schedule and budgets, and contribute to proposals and new work pursuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• PE Certification.
• 5 to 10 years of experience.
• Experience in environmental engineering with CT focus.
• Experience overseeing field services (construction oversight, site assessments, UST removal, investigations).
• Familiar with CTDEEP regulations for site assessment, remediation, permitting, tank compliance, solid waste facilities.
• Ability to manage technical, budgetary and client aspects of diverse projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with multiple staff and clients.
• Positive attitude and good communication.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering reports and plans including sampling and analysis plans and permit filings.
• Prepare design plans, details, and technical specifications for bidding.
• Supervise and lead project teams for environmental studies and designs.
• Define project scope, schedule, fee; prepare contracts; manage budget and invoicing.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior staff.
• Support pursuit of new work via client relationships and proposals.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical committees.
