Job summary

Haley & Aldrich Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Project Civil/Environmental Engineer to join a technical support team on a variety of projects.

This full-time role involves field reconnaissance, design calculations, and report preparation, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and coordinate across nationwide project teams. You will work with multidisciplinary groups, apply environmental and civil engineering knowledge, and use AutoCAD and Civil 3D tools to deliver high-quality solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 4-10 years of related experience.
• Must possess EIT, PE, or plan to obtain professional certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to manage tasks and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field reconnaissance and support proposal development, including technical approaches, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
• Perform technical calculations, modeling, and prepare design drawings and reports for civil and environmental projects.
• Prepare clear, accurate technical reports and project deliverables.
• Support project execution for Rochester office and nationwide teams.
• Serve as liaison between junior and senior staff, facilitating communication and coordination.
• Perform civil engineering evaluations using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software.
• Prepare permit applications.
• Ensure work follows health and safety protocols.
