Job summary
The City of Las Cruces is seeking a senior Engineering Technician to design City projects, review plans, and support GIS data management. The role involves field data collection, 3D modeling, and coordinating with contractors, utilities, and public agencies to ensure compliance with City standards.
Applicants should have an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field and at least three years of civil engineering experience, including plan review, design and GIS.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field with three years of civil engineering operations experience.
- Experience in plan review, design and GIS.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Designs City projects including street lights, roadways, traffic systems, parking lots, drainage, utilities, earthwork and related items for review by a professional engineer.
- Reviews commercial plans for compliance with City design standards and coordinates with engineers, architects and designers.
- Performs 3D modeling of buildings, landscapes, and architecture and creates presentation materials.
