Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers in Appleton, WI seeks an Engineering Technician (Civil) GS-0802-11 to support operation and maintenance of civil engineering projects, with emphasis on harbors, confined disposal facilities and dams.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, reviewing technical data, coordinating repairs and construction, and serving as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for O&M contracts; liaison with agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience GS-11: planning, maintenance, and operation of civil works projects including harbors and dams.
• Conducts detailed surveys and inspections of government structures, identified deficiencies and recommended repairs.
• Experience collecting and analyzing hydrographic and technical data to support engineering improvements and special investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts periodic surveys of government structures to determine condition and recommends repairs and reconstruction.
• Plans and designs maintenance and repair projects, coordinates with maintenance engineers, and prepares contract scopes, plans, specs, time estimates, and cost estimates.
• Serves as COR managing diverse service and O&M contracts, coordinates project meetings, and processes contractor payments.
