Job summary

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician in Strongsville. The role blends office and field work, supporting planning, design, bidding, and construction observation for capital infrastructure projects.

You will work under the Director of Construction, collaborating with contractors and internal teams to ensure projects meet plans, specifications, and Park District standards. The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering degree (or related) with drafting/design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field preferred; supplemented by experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting/design software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the design, planning, and management of capital infrastructure projects, including preparation of drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Conducts field inspections and construction observations to ensure work complies with plans, specs, quality standards, and district requirements.
• Frequent field visits to job sites in developed and remote areas.
• Keeps supervisor informed of key issues and coordinates with contractors and internal teams.
• Maintain safe work environment and promptly report hazards; support project meetings and progress reporting.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and certifications.
