Job summary

Amey Ltd. invites applications for a Civil Engineering Summer Placement within the CAFA team in York. The 8-12 week program runs from July 2027, offering hands-on experience on railway structures, inspections, and analysis in a dynamic environment.

You will undertake load calculations, contribute to strengthening options, and develop reporting drawings while gaining insight and a potential graduate pathway after study completion. This is an on-site role based at 27 Tanner Row, York.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) requirement.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis and assessment calculations to determine the structural load carrying capacity of a variety of structures
• Proposing strengthening and maintenance options
• Planning and undertaking bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition
• Developing innovative solutions to enhance inspection and technical capabilities
• Prepare technical drawings and reports.
