Job summary

Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. is offering a Civil Engineering Student Intern position for May–August. You will work under experienced professionals, supporting design and construction of critical infrastructure while gaining hands-on field and office experience.

  • Use measuring equipment to verify materials, line, and grade accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records and update project documentation using electronic reporting software.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and municipal staff to maintain project schedules.
  • Respond to public inquiries and assist in addressing construction-related questions or concerns.
  • Work outdoors on real-world infrastructure projects to strengthen communities.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse project teams.

Are you ready to launch your engineering career with hands-on experience on real-world projects? Join Ruekert & Mielke, Inc., as a Civil Engineering Student Intern. We’re seeking motivated students who are eager to learn from industry leaders and help build stronger communities through active construction projects from May to August.

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you’ll work closely with experienced professionals, supporting the design and construction of critical infrastructure. Gain well-rounded industry experience, strengthen technical skills, and develop meaningful relationships with engineers, contractors, and municipal staff.

Goals & Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Strong work initiative, attention to detail, and a desire to learn
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate professionally to build positive relationships with project teams, contractors, clients and the public
  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements and estimations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Experience with construction, surveying, or CAD software is beneficial but not required
