Job summary

Haley Ward, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager in Saco, ME. You will plan, design, and control multifamily and commercial development projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, and QA/QC compliance.

Responsibilities include overseeing proposals, coordinating engineers and designers, presenting to boards, and managing client relationships. A BS in Civil Engineering and a PE license are required with 10+ years of PM experience.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering required; PE license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience, with project management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying, site design, and QA/QC processes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related design software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee proposal development through planning and design of site plans.
  • Supervise engineers, technicians, and designers; allocate tasks and manage schedules.
  • Lead project execution within budgets and QA/QC constraints; monitor risks.
  • Present projects to Boards/Commissions and coordinate regulatory approvals.
  • Mentor staff and foster business development with existing clients.

What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is looking for a Civil Engineering Project Manager. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail Land Development Civil Engineering with an emphasis on multifamily and commercial developments.

  • Oversee and manage project proposal development through planning, detailed site design, stormwater designer, preparation of site plans, drainage studies, permit documents and specifications.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
  • Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects.
  • Presenting projects to Boards and Commission for approval
  • Working with Regulatory Agencies for project approvals
  • Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
  • Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members.
  • Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects.
What you will need to succeed:
  • BS in an Engineering field required, Civil Engineering preferred. Advanced degree in the area of work specialization is desirable.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience is required, project management experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline.
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
  • Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
  • Sound mathematical skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Carlson, HydroCAD is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong leadership potential with a desire to develop into a management position.
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

Location: Saco, ME - Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)

The estimated range for this role is: $98,025 to $150,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
