Job description

Overview

Civil Engineering - Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). This role involves client and project management, including the technical and financial management of projects, as well as business development. Openings exist for project managers across multiple industries, including private and public land development, with projects ranging from commercial retail expansions to large mixed-use, residential, and industrial developments. You will work with Principals in the Civil/Site Practice to develop and maintain strong client relationships, represent the company at conferences, events, and project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

You will collaborate with CEC professionals locally and nationwide to develop opportunities, build business relationships, and apply best practices to address client needs. You will work with your Principal to develop project schedules, assemble a project team, and assign tasks, coordinating with practices such as survey, geotechnical, traffic, environmental, ecological, and others. You will be involved throughout the design of the project, mentoring junior and mid-level staff in planning, design, permitting, and execution, and you will conduct technical reviews of client deliverables.

The pay range for this position is between $90,000 and $145,000. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what CEC may offer for the role. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offer.

  • Manage multi-discipline projects (e.g., survey, environmental, geotechnical, construction phase services).
  • Develop project schedules, assemble project teams, and assign tasks.
  • Coordinate with multiple practices and stakeholders (clients, regulatory agencies, etc.).
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff; conduct technical reviews of client deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships; contribute to new business opportunities.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant design and permitting experience, including earth disturbance and stormwater permits, and municipal approval processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) preferred.
  • Civil design and permitting experience related to layout, grading, stormwater, and erosion and sediment control is required.
  • Proven ability to develop business opportunities and contribute to new opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multi-discipline projects (e.g., survey, environmental, geotechnical, and construction phase services).
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior staff.
