Job description

Company Description: Bluewing Civil Consulting, LLC (BWC) is a general civil engineering and consulting firm focused on practical, community‑oriented infrastructure solutions. Our team specializes in floodplain engineering and the design of roads, drainage, water, sewerage, and public infrastructure systems that support resilient, long‑term community growth. We also provide comprehensive site design services, including subdivision layouts and land development projects.

BWC offers opportunities to work on diverse, meaningful projects that directly impact local communities across South Louisiana. Our engineers collaborate closely with clients, public agencies, and project stakeholders to deliver efficient, resilient, and compliant engineering solutions. We emphasize clear communication, technical excellence, and a commitment to serving the public through thoughtful, well‑designed infrastructure

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Louisiana who can lead civil design teams and serve as Engineer‑of‑Record on municipal and public‑works projects. This role is ideal for engineers who excel in both technical execution and collaborative leadership, and who are ready to take professional responsibility for design quality, coordination, and client communication. Our firm operates within the EOS framework, planning in focused 90‑day cycles to maintain clarity, accountability, and momentum. We offer two structured professional development tracks—Hybrid Project Manager/Designer and Dedicated Design Professional—and will work with you to identify the path that aligns with your strengths and long‑term goals. We invest heavily in professional growth, including full support for PDHs, continuing education, and specialized technical training

A strong candidate for the Hybrid PM/Designer track combines solid technical capability with natural leadership and communication skills. They are comfortable managing project workflows; coordinating with clients, sub‑consultants, and permitting agencies; and ensuring design quality while keeping schedules and deliverables on track. They demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to balance hands‑on design work with project management responsibilities. Curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous professional growth are essential.

A strong candidate for the Dedicated Design Professional track is deeply technical, detail‑oriented, and driven to master advanced civil engineering design tools and methodologies. They bring strong analytical skills, sound engineering judgment, and a desire to produce high‑quality plans, reports, and modeling outputs. They are eager to expand expertise in fields such as (H&H) modelling— including tools such as HEC‑RAS and HEC‑HMS—and contribute to complex municipal and public‑works projects. They thrive in a focused design environment and demonstrate curiosity, precision, and a commitment to technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee civil design, engineering analysis, plan and report production, and permitting for municipal, public‑works, and hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) projects. Apply advanced modelling tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and related software to produce high‑quality stormwater and drainage analyses
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to EIs, designers, and sub‑consultants, ensuring clarity, quality, and adherence to professional standards.
  • Serve as an external leader capable of organising and leading discussions with owners, clients, sub‑consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the general public. Facilitate clear, productive conversations; document decisions and agreements in concise meeting summaries; convert summaries into actionable items; and ensure follow‑through across the project team.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, schedules, coordination workflows, and QA/QC processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
  • Demonstrate initiative, professional responsibility, and continuous technical growth, staying current with evolving standards, modelling practices, and municipal infrastructure design methodologies
