Purdue University Fort Wayne seeks a full-time, onsite Civil Engineering Lab Technician in the Civil and Mechanical Engineering department. This role provides technical support for CE/CET labs, ensuring safety, equipment maintenance, and effective field testing.

The position offers hands-on lab work, collaboration with faculty and students, and opportunities to manage lab operations. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of work experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum two years’ work experience.
• Preferred: civil/construction engineering lab knowledge.
• Ability to write technical reports and conduct field inspections.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for CE/CET laboratory facilities.
• Support lab activities and student projects under supervision.
• Ensure safety procedures and maintenance of equipment.
• Coordinate purchases of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain inventory and calibrate equipment regularly.
• Assist faculty and students with lab modifications and testing.
• Prepare lab samples and update related documentation.
• Support lab operations and safety compliance.
