Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our team in Richmond, VA. The role introduces traffic studies, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, and construction plans within a supportive internship program.

Responsibilities include CAD design, site grading, field inspections, and construction administration tasks under supervision. The program emphasizes learning, development opportunities, and collaboration across departments to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in college programs, a college degree program, or continuing education.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project scope including site grading, CAD design, stormwater, water/traffic analyses, and utility design.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.
• Follow established procedures and work under direct supervision of an experienced professional.
