Job summary

WSP USA invites a Civil Engineering student to join the Summer 2027 internship in our Louisville, KY office. This 12-week, full-time program offers hands-on exposure to real projects and mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

You will assist with project research, design calculations, field work, and documentation, while developing civil engineering fundamentals, safety awareness, and professional communication. Note: no relocation or housing assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Civil Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and desire to advance skills related to WSP's work
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct.
