Job summary

Pennoni in Leesburg, VA is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team and support a variety of public and private land development projects throughout the region. You will gain hands-on exposure to site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and permitting while working closely with experienced engineers and project managers.

Enrollment in a Civil Engineering program is required. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office 365 will help you

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Coursework related to site/civil design, land development, water resources, transportation, utilities, or related civil topics.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers with civil plans for land development.
• Support site design tasks: site layout, grading, stormwater, erosion control, and utility design.
• Prepare permit materials, exhibits, calculations, and documentation for review.
• Review local ordinances and state regulations applicable to tasks.
• Contribute to engineering reports by documenting design criteria and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and PMs.
• Additional tasks as needed.
