Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our San Diego, CA office for Summer 2027. This is an on-site internship that offers hands-on experience across civil engineering disciplines.

You will use AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, and other software to analyze, design, and QC deliverables while learning regulatory practices and project coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering degree program (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
• Majors include Civil and/or Environmental Engineering; Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering; Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis.
• Solve complex problems and collaborate across disciplines to realize clients’ visions.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
