Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Roadway team in South San Francisco, CA for Summer 2027. This is an on-site internship with an hourly rate of $34.00–$35.00 per hour.

Interns will support pre-construction civil engineering tasks across multiple projects, using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, and related tools. You will learn regulatory practices and assist project managers while gaining cross-disciplinary experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's).
• Majors include Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering.
• Engineering Technology acceptable.

• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
