Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks Civil Engineering Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program based in the Rancho Cordova, CA office. This is a paid full-time summer role from June through August 2027, with potential to transition into a full-time position after graduation.

You will work under Project Managers and Team Leaders alongside engineers, scientists, and technologists. The successful candidates will support civil design tasks, participate in site layout and grading, and contribute to cost

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, CAD, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Honest, hard-working and ready to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineer design tasks including sheet setup, drafting, and proposal development.
• Support site layout and grading, utility design, cost estimates, bridge and highway design.
• Assist in the preparation of civil construction drawings.
• Use AUTOCAD, Civil-3D, HydroCAD, Microstation, PondPack, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
