Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks Civil Engineering Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program in Baton Rouge, LA. This paid internship offers hands-on experience under Project Managers and Team Leaders, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

Successful candidates are pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or related field, possess strong communication, and are eager to learn. Position may transition to full-time after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, CAD, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineer design tasks including sheet setup, drafting, and proposal development.
• Support site layout and grading, utility design, cost estimates, bridge and highway design.
• Assist in the preparation of civil construction drawings.
• Use AUTOCAD, Civil-3D, HydroCAD, Microstation, PondPack, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
• Work in the field with a construction inspector.
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Communicate with contractors.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
